Santa Pinwheel by Just Nan for Needle Orts

Hi all,
following on from my last post, I receive the parcel and wanted to share what Santa Pinwheel looks like for those who, like me, had never heard of it before. There are so few images of it online, and all of them blurry, I hope this adds to the pool. It comes with the special whinzi frame and beads.

Information on some old Just Nan designs

I recently had the chance to purchase the following designs by Just Nan.

  • Santa Pinwheel, which was apparently an exclusive design for Needle Orts and came with a whimzi frame.
  • Silver Needle Sampler which came with a whimzi frame too.
  • Noah's Sampler Reborn.
I did a search on Google images and could only find one blurry image of the Santa Pinwheel, but no images for the Silver Needle Sampler. There were a couple of Silver Needle SAMPLERS, but nothing that looked like it would fit in a whimzi frame.

Was wondering if people knew more about these two designs and had photos to share, and anything more about Noah's Sampler Reborn?
Thanks.

Owl Winder Pocket

The Owl Winder Pocket has been one of my holiday stitching projects.

It was stitched on the recomende 28ct opalescent raw linen with DMC floss.  Here it is made up with the winder.

Question?

Would it be a copyright infringement if I offer to send my copy of a pattern to someone when I am done?

Williamsburg Stitcher's Case - not many left

Hi all,
just a head's up.

Paula from Haus Tirol has advised me that they only have 10 of the limited edition 30th Anniversary kits left, one of which has now become mine.

If you're interested in getting this but have been holding off, would recommend getting onto buying it asap. :)

More about it on Just Nan's site: http://www.justnan.com/jnewsc.html
And Heather's lovely stitched version: http://tajinaz5.blogspot.com/2011/04/williamsburg-stitchers-case.html

Cheers.

Williamsburg Stitcher's Case

Williamsburg Stitcher's Case
Vanilla Gold Legacy linen (30 count)
Stitched with GAST and DMC
Related posts on my blog

This was the Just Nan project I chose to stitch for the 2011 Crazy January Challenge. The case was designed to commemorate Haus Tirol's 30th anniversary. It's a similar finish to Octagonal Peacock, although the inside is a bit different. I especially like the brightly colored flower gardens.

Christmas Sheep pocket

Christmas Sheep pocket
Country Blue Cashel linen (28 count)
Stitched with DMC, GAST, Gentle Art Simply Wool
related post on my blog

This little pocket is so cute, quick to stitch, and a fast finish. What's not to like?

My linen was not as blue as the package showed; it's a light blue-grey. I like the more "vintage" look, but you may need to choose a different linen if you prefer the brighter blue. The sheep are stitched with Simply Wool, which makes them nice and fuzzy.

Pretty Wicked

I stitched Just Nan's 'Pretty Wicked' design for an exchange between two friends, and decided to frame it in the black spider Whimzi frame. Design stitched using recommended fabric & threads.

I also made my exchange a bone themed bookmark, with this awesome skull bone bead in the centre. Needless to say, she loved it all :)

Summer Wings Humbug

here is my Summer Wing Humbug completed. I had a slight problem with the pin, it had one of the crystals missing. A new one was sent over form the US arriving in less that a week. Excelent service from Just Nan. My problem is what to do next. In a recent pole on my blog, where I asked which Just nan project I should stitch next Floral Fifteen won and Scream House came second so it might be that.

Here it is before finishing.

I stitched this in DMC on an overdyed fabric from DoveStitch. I've no idea what the colour of fabric was.

Floral Fifteen

Here is my finished Floral Fifteen. Each square took just under an evening to stitch and the whole thing a day to make up.

Tea With Honey

This is my latest Just Nan finish ~ Tea With Honey. It was stitched with DMC floss on the recomended fabric. I really enjoyed stitching this. The pins are very detailed with 'Tea time' etched in to both the tea pot and the tea cup.

Keep a Little Secret!

Wow, I've been bad about keeping up with the blogs lately! I finished JN's Keep a Little Secret last month, and have to say I really enjoyed it! The blanket stitch finishing was a little fiddly, but here it is! I changed the ABC to my initials and added the year.

Progress on Remember 9-11

Not a lot but some. I had to move to another piece with more color.
